Membership in the Maryland and Pennsylvania Preservation Society

  If you are a railfan, a history buff, or would simply enjoy working with unusual equipment and structures, the Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad Preservation Society afford unique opportunities to pursue your interests. We cordially invite you to join us in preserving America's transportation heritage!

We hope you will consider joining the Maryland & Pennsylvania Railroad Preservation Society. We are continually seeking individuals who want to help.


The Society has been designated as a non-profit, tax exempt organization by the IRS, so all contributions are tax deductible. All revenues will be used solely to further the preservation and educational goals of the Society.

  • Student - $5.00
  • Flagman - $25.00 - $49.00
  • Switchman - $50.00 - $99.00
  • Brakeman - $100.00 - $249.00
  • Fireman - $250.00 - $499.00
  • Engineer - $500.00 and above

Your membership entitles you to:

  1. receive our quarterly newsletter, the YORK MAIL
  2. participate in Member's Day, a family day for members to enjoy the railroad and get better acquainted.
  3. attend the public meetings conducted by the Society in various locales served by the original right of way.
  4. attend and participate in the annual business meeting of the Society.

Categories of Switchman and above include a free pass for train rides on public days and a coupon that can be exchanged for Society merchandise.
